India’s largest private telecom operator, Bharti Airtel along with Apple has launched 4G mobile services in Bangalore and also announced that from now, Airtel customers using iphone 5s and 5c in Bangalore can enjoy 4G services at 3G rates on their mobile.
To avail this service, customers have to change their existing SIM to a 4G SIM, select their preferred pack and enjoy 4G mobile service without changing their current data plan. Customers with 2G plan can go for any of the 3G pack and start enjoying 4G services.
Claiming to be the first telecom operator to introduce 4G services in India, Srini Gopalan, Director of Customer Business, Bharti Airtel said that, “The information technology capital of India saw the advent of 4G in 2012 and today we are proud to announce the launch of the much awaited Airtel 4G services on mobile in partnership with Apple. We (with Apple) will give customers in Bengaluru the power to upgrade to cutting edge 4G LTE technologies at no additional cost.”
This brings a whole new experience for iphone users as they can enjoy high speed browsing which is 5 times faster than then the existing 3G speed – this means, high definition video with zero buffering, download around ten movies in less than half an hour, and also connect multiple devices without any hassle to use the cool Wi-Fi features – and all these at 3G prices, as announced by Airtel.
Now data browsing will be on 4G network and voice calls will be smoothly routed on 2G and 3G through CSFB technology (circuit switched fall back technology).
This recent launch has grabbed much attention as the 4G services across the globe has gained more popularity on mobile phones compared to desktops and laptops.
